The Airpower is an Austrian Airshow, sponsored by RedBull©, the Austrian Army and the state of Styria in Austria. Since the airfield Zeltweg is not too far away from Vienna, my friends and me decided to visit the show. We spent the whole Saturday there and both Fujis were pretty busy. As a result we had a really awesome time!
Airpower 2016 is the biggest airshow in Europe
If you are a big airplane fan like I am, then you should visit the AirPower one day! It’s the biggest Airshow in Europe!Although it can’t compete with big Airshows in the USA, it’s still very impressive to see and hear all those powerful planes one after the other.
You do not have to pay any entrance fee. The official train shuttles and busses coming from the car parking fields are free too, and an attended parking space costs 10,- Euro. All in all an affordable spectacle, even if you come with your family. They did not rip us off for beverages and food too. You would definitely pay more for a coke in the first cinema that comes along.
The flight program was quite rich in variety and it was not boring at all. Various aerobatic teams from all around Europe, jets, vintage airplanes, the Flying Bulls, skydivers, etc. were tearing above our heads. In addition there were some entertainment possibilities on the ground as well, for example flight simulators, access to many planes, etc. But since it got crowded and hot soon before midday, we did not scramble to visit many of this attractions.
We even had our wifes with us and they sat it through. Finally there are no excuses not to come to the next AirPower in 2019!
Definitely worth a visit
